IMA Urgent Care & Primary Care Donates Medical Kits To Middletown Fire Departments

When IMA Urgent Care and Primary Care heard that the local Fire Departments had to pay for their own first aid kits, they sprung to action.  IMA Urgent Care and Primary Care’s, Dr. Roger Thompson created a special medical kit for local volunteer Fire Departments.

The kits contained bandages, ice packs, wraps and more to help these volunteer fire fighters not only treat their own injuries they may get while on duty, but also those affected by a fire.

“By donating something the Fire Departments could actually use, we are not only helping these volunteer departments save money, but we are giving them something they can keep on a truck that will help treat minor injuries until the local EMS arrives,” states Dr Thompson.

Local fire companies have been picking up their medical kits at any one of IMA’s three Urgent Care Centers located in Shrewsbury, Hazlet and Port Monmouth.  Since early June, IMA has donated to the Hazlet, Sea Bright, Shrewsbury, Red Bank, Highlands, Fair Haven and Matawan Fire Departments.

Recently, Dr. Thompson met several members of the 11 Middletown Fire Companies and donated the kits to their Fire Chiefs along with Middletown’s acting Mayor, Kevin Settembrino.
